The trail ends in the locality of Maroços, crossing the traditional agricultural terraces known as 'poios,' which characterize the agricultural landscape of Madeira. There can be quite a few mountain bikers here, as it's a popular spot for mountain biking!

In this mountain area, you can see some species from Madeira's natural Laurisilva forest, such as the Azores laurel (Laurus novocanariensis), Madeira laurel (Ocotea foetens), Indian bay (Persea indica), and Tenerife laurel (Apollonias barbujana), among others.

On the other side of the valley, you can observe the Santo da Serra golf course. On the horizon, out at sea, you can spot the Desertas Islands, while on land, you can distinguish the profiles of the island's highest points (Pico Ruivo and Pico do Areeiro). At the Portela viewpoint, you have access to the PR10 trail - Levada do Furado (Ribeiro Frio).

You can return to your starting point by taking a taxi, bus, or hitchhiking.
