You will encounter several tunnels during this levada hike, but in the meantime, the landscape allows you to discover the beautiful São Vicente valley.

The exotic forest you'll see at the beginning of the route, consisting of maritime pines and eucalyptus trees, gives way to dense vegetation that characterizes the Laurisilva forest. Waterfalls and numerous streams add vibrancy to species such as willows, as well as large laurels of Madeira, royal laurels, and lily of the valley trees that line the levada. You'll also find numerous flowering species such as Madeira geraniums, wild chrysanthemums, Madeira orchids, and large-leaved buttercups.

As you follow the path of the Levada Fajã do Rodrigues, you will regularly pass through tunnels, adding a touch of mystery to your experience. Additionally, in some places, you can enjoy panoramic views that allow you to admire the vastness of the São Vicente valley. The return journey follows the same path.
